Phicomm Passion P660 – Power packed device at Rs.10,999

Phicomm Recently launched their new phone in India. Called as Passion 660, this one looks like a power packed device. I got hands on with the device.

Lets start with the Design. Phicomm is pretty light and slim at 7.3 mm and does have premium finishing and does not look plastic. The screen size is 5-inch display that is bigger than iPhone 6. The display of Phicomm Passion 6 is 5 inch FHD with crystal clear 441 PPI and has 3rd gen corning gorilla glass display that is sturdy. It also has wearable and antiscrach painting that does not leave fingerprints on the phone.

The build of the body is unibody with a seamless back cover with a all metal frame and its very light at 110 grams which feels like a feather.

Storage: 2GB RAM & 16GB inbuilt storage make it decently fast.

Camera: Primary camera is 13 Megapixel with 1.12um pixel (1/3.06 sensor area ) with Backside illumination sensor and f/2.0 Aperture & Five-Elements Lens. When I tried taking pictures, it does capture vivid details in close shot and also supports HDR and does Multi Face Detection. It also supports autofocus, tap to focus, exposure control, burst /zero shutter/panorama/anti-shake mode, Timer mode, LED Flash, 4X zoom, photo geotagging, photo height tagging. When it comes to the video recording, it supports 1080P 30FPS Recording.

The front camera is 5 Megapixel and is famous for taking selfies with Super Wide angle 84-degree lens. This helps to capture more people in one shot.

The phone has special features like an in-built pedometer where GPS & Network is not required and has Power saving feature. It also has Integrated step counter which saves RAM.

Passion 660 also has Gesture control to Control the phone, unlock control, standby control, status bar control, music control & picture control.

The performance of Passion 660 is powered by Blazing performance
Snapdragon 615 which has 64bit, 28nm and is octa-core. It is also powered by Direct X 9.3,OpenGL ES 3.0,H.264 Hardware Decoder, 1x 800MHz LPDDR3, 1080p @ 60fps for Video decode.

The device has hybrid sim support that can be used for both sim and expandable memory and global 4G Sim as well. Noise cancellation by Dual mic Technology and Voice+ technology powered by Qualcomm.

Wifi-Direct is available on Passion 660 that helps in transferring data wirelessly without any USB cable.

Passion 660 runs on Expect OS on Android 4.4 Kit Kat that has simple minimalist icons.

Price: 10,999

Verdict: A good phone considering the price tag but if you can spare 5k more there are even better ones around.
