IPL 7 – Who Will You Vote For?

As the action begins in the UAE I have been keeping busy with the general elections and in all this political frenzy I haven’t felt the buzz of the tournament. Plus all the drama with N Srinivasan and the franchisee conflict of interest drama has also taken away some of the enthusiasm. But I am looking at some of the players using this as a make or break. Specially the Golden trio of Indian cricket Gauti, Viru & Yuvi. For all of them the next two months could possibly determine whether or not they get to extend their player life cycle on the big stage i.e. International cricket.

Nothing short of a few match winning perhaps title winning performances will do. They will have to finish among the top three players of the tournament in order to seriously stake a claim.

And good performances from them will automatically push the youngsters/rising stars plus the current incumbents to try harder.

Its in the UAE and honestly am going be a lil skeptical everytime a fumble ,no-ball, dropped catch or even a Yuvi like performance in W T20 final happens. But, am a believer and for the large part the player will get the benefit of doubt. Because I still believe that winners like Yuvi will never do a loser like thing. So despite the doubts, will keep the faith.

I have always been a Delhi Daredevils fan and continue to remain one. hope and pray that they are 7th time lucky. DK has always staked claim but has allowed the moment to get to him on the big stage. Now is the time to conquer the demons and stamp his authority. If he sits down a lil more while keeping and keeps his focus he will do much much better. Also KP has many a point to prove and i feel we will see something spl from his willow as long as he doesn’t try too hard.

My dark horses this time are Kings XI Punjab. They have decent line up and there seems to sense of redemption with that group.

My pick as favourites to win are RCB. With Gayle, Virat and Yuvi with AB thrown in its hard to look elsewhere…

As i sign off this blog,  spare a thought for some others, Zak, Pathan bros, Bhajji, Uthappa. All have a point to prove. Hope they do make an impression.

Watch the cricket, follow the politics. Some great battles in store both on the 22yards and off it!
